Alex MacPhie
Alex is a Director of Pragmatique, working in its Process, Purpose and Performance Practices and specialising in Process & Business Performance Improvement.
Alex holds a BSc (Hons) and an MBA from the University of Edinburgh where he specialised in the Implementation of Business Performance Management and Assessment Systems, such as the Balanced Scorecard and the EFQM Business Excellence model. Alex is also a qualified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Business Benchmark Advisor, EFQM Assessor, NLP Practitioner and Knowledge Management Practitioner.
Prior to founding Pragmatique in 2003, Alex held senior technical positions with Motorola, Digital and GEC, working on large, complex, multi-national projects. As a member of Motorola's Technical Ladder, Alex has presented papers at conferences in Europe, America and Japan. Alex has experience in the Electronics, FMCG, Engineering, Tourism, Financial Services and Pharmaceuticals sectors.
Alex has continuously developed his specialised knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Team Development and Performance Management techniques throughout his career which he now uses to drive performance improvement into client organisations. He has experience of working with Senior teams in organisations such as Corus, Intel and 3M. His approach first of all looks to create Improvement Roadmaps (Value Stream Maps) focused on improving flow from customer order to fulfilment, to create more dynamic profitable businesses by removing waste and improving internal information flow.
Outside of work Alex enjoys photography and golf, he is currently training for a cycle ride across the Andes in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
